Negotiations held: Manchester United discuss signing versatile 18-year-old wideman

Manchester United have reportedly held internal discussions over a potential move for Sporting Lisbon’s high-profile young wideman Salvador Vulopa.

The 18-year-old Portugal youth international has become a regular in Sporting’s first team this season and has already shown his importance, scoring two goals in six games in all competitions.

There isn’t much information available at the moment, but the Daily Mail reports that Man United are interested in Vulopa.

Whether this becomes something more concrete for the Red Devils remains to be seen, but Vulopa is certainly an exciting prospect who will continue to attract interest from big clubs.

Vulopa is a versatile young talent who can play as both a right-back and a winger and has already made a real impression at Sporting’s top level.

The Portuguese giants often draw the best talent from their academy, most notably the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo and another all-time great, Luis Figo.

Recently, Paris Saint-Germain’s left-back Nuno Mendes has also been active at Sporting, along with Giovanny Quenda, who will join Chelsea next season.

Vropa are hoping to land a big transfer and follow in their footsteps, but it’s unclear how concrete or advanced this will be at the moment.

However, some imagine that right-back or even wing-back in Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 formation could make sense as one of United’s priorities, and it looks like Vulopa could be an ideal fit for that system.
