Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder Riqui Puig has successfully undergone surgery to reconstruct the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. The team announced on Saturday that Puig has fully healed and is set to return to Major League Soccer for the upcoming season, which begins in July 2027. This surgery, conducted in Barcelona, comes only a year after a similar procedure sidelined him for the entire 2025 season. Puig sustained his injury during the 2024 Western Conference Finals in Carson, California, where he provided an assist for the game-winning goal, helping the Galaxy clinch their sixth MLS Cup title in his absence. In 2024, the Spanish player participated in 36 matches, netting 17 goals and contributing 20 assists.

This news is significant for soccer fans as Puig’s return could bolster the Galaxy’s performance and enhance the excitement of the upcoming season. His skills and contributions on the field are crucial, and his recovery signifies hope for both the team and its supporters.
