  • Will Koby Mainu definitely be leaving Manchester United?
  • What Ruben Amorim said about Koby Mainu’s future

Manchester United central midfielder Koby Mainu has reportedly landed a surprise new suitor in Turkish club Besiktas.

As previously reported, Mainu has interest from Chelsea, Napoli and Bayern Munich, with the England international also vying for minutes under manager Ruben Amorim.

According to Saba, quoted and translated by Sport Witness, Besiktas have contacted Mainu to inquire about a possible transfer and could add another name to the list.

It remains to be seen whether this will lead to anything, but it is clear that there will be no shortage of offers if Mainu leaves Old Trafford to increase his playing time this month.

However, the Turkish league is not as competitive as the Premier League, Bundesliga or Serie A, so Besiktas will definitely be an outsider in this race.

United’s stance has so far been understood to be that they don’t want to let Mainu go, but if Amorim doesn’t give him more chances, the player’s feelings are likely to change.

The 20-year-old looked like a huge talent when he first broke into United’s first team after coming through the club’s historically successful academy.

Many fans will be surprised to find Mainu so far down the table, but at the same time, if the club doesn’t want to let him go, there’s not much he can do.

What Ruben Amorim said about Koby Mainu’s future

Speaking recently, Amorim said he wants to keep Mainu and suggested the youngster was part of his plans.

“Koby Mainu will always have a chance,” Amorim said, as quoted by Sky Sports.

“He played in different positions. We talked about Casemiro’s position. He can do that. If he plays in a three, he can play there, like he played in Mason Mount’s position in the last game.”

“He’s going to be the future of Manchester United, that’s how I feel. He just has to wait for his chance and in two days everything in football could change.”
