Gigi Stoll (@gigistoll_) is an American professional golfer from Oregon, 2018 NCAA National Champion at the University of Arizona, Epson Tour winner, and…hip-hop artist? Yeah. hip hop artist. I must also mention that she is notorious for her Malbon fits on the LPGA Tour. And since she just released some new music (which can be heard on most major streaming services), I reached out to her about the new music and what’s next in these colliding worlds of golf and hip-hop.

Q: What made you want to pursue music?

GiGi: I grew up playing a variety of instruments and always enjoyed discovering new music. I’ve always loved the connection music creates in people and it’s a way to express different emotions. I found music again in college when I needed some inspiration in my life. I started writing lyrics and found great joy in creating music for myself and my friends. It started a new love for me and my musical ambitions.

Q: What was the inspiration for your new song “Common Ground”?

GiGi: I think golf is at a great time with more people watching and playing the sport. Golf God’s song Common Ground focuses on creating a soundtrack for your course. Everyone deserves to feel a sense of belonging on the golf course and in life, and songs provide that anthem.

Q: Was there a special moment when you came up with the idea for this song?

GiGi: Most of this year I wanted to create a song with this theme. As the golf community continues to grow, it felt very appropriate to create a song for golfers from all walks of life. Green is common ground.

Q: What does the future hold for the “God of Golf” as an artist?

GiGi: I love that this song introduces me as an artist and as a person. Golf God plans to release more music in 2026. Get ready, because this is just the beginning.
