Andrew Tate’s Challenger Chase DeMore Escapes Jail by Hours After Dropping $40,000 Before A Star Is Born Match

Andrew Tate’s crushing loss to Chase DeMore nearly didn’t take place, as the reality TV star narrowly evaded jail over a $40,000 dispute in Dubai. The former kickboxing champion was bloodied and knocked down by DeMore in his Misfits Boxing debut, a fight watched by millions. However, the bout was at risk during fight week when DeMore got caught up in trouble over a relatively unknown UAE law violation.

To meet the 200-pound weight limit set by Misfits co-owner Tate, along with a hydration requirement, DeMore had to undergo a significant weight cut. His efforts paid off with the biggest win of his career, securing the heavyweight title.

Tensions peaked when, during his weight cut, DeMore checked the scale shirtless and covered only by a towel, prompting a man to scream at him and eventually get kicked out of the gym. DeMore allegedly gave this man the middle finger, a gesture considered a public indecency in the UAE and punishable by imprisonment.

The man threatened to report DeMore to the police unless he received a video apology and $40,000. DeMore refused, but they eventually settled with him paying a few hundred dollars and giving two game tickets worth about $500 each in exchange for an apology and a handshake.

Fan Take: This story highlights how fighters must navigate not only physical challenges but also cultural and legal hurdles that can impact their careers. For the sport, it underscores the increasing global complexity fighters face, adding a new layer of drama beyond the ring.
