As part of its 50th anniversary celebrations, Golfweek will walk down Memory Lane with many former employees who helped make the brand what it is today.

The series begins with one of GolfWeek’s longest-serving employees in its history, Bradley S. Klein, former architecture editor and longtime director of GolfWeek’s Best Courses rating program.

Architectural Editor: Monthly columnist, news reporting, creation and administration of Golfweek’s Best Course Rating System

What is your proudest moment while working together? golf week?

We created the Golfweek’s Best rating criteria and quickly secured an industry position on par with, if not superior to, other leading golf publications as a nationally recognized course evaluation platform.

What is your most vivid memory of the “hair on fire” moment?

Payne Stewart passed away on a Monday afternoon in October 1999. We tore up the first four pages of the soon-to-be-printed edition and stayed up all night completely rewriting them. The team was very proud of this classic piece of journalism.

What is your favorite golf course you have ever played and why?

Royal Dornoch Golf Club, Scotland — Member since 1988. It means I’m back in the north of Scotland, in wonderful surroundings.
