  • Thomas Frank says he didn’t notice the Arsenal Cup
  • Could Frank stay at Tottenham longer?

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank was not happy when asked about his drinking of Arsenal-branded products before the game against Bournemouth.

It was another tough night for Spurs as they conceded late goals to lose 3-2 to Bournemouth, but Frank has just fallen into further disrepute for his pre-match incident.

Frank referenced the Arsenal Cup incident in his post-match press conference, insisting it was not intentional, but also condemning the focus on this type of story.

See below. The Danish tactician was clearly upset, saying it was “sad” to have to answer questions like this and that it was a sign that things were going in the wrong direction…

Thomas Frank says he didn’t notice the Arsenal Cup

“I didn’t notice it at all,” Frank told reporters.

“I think it’s fair to say we don’t win every football match, so it would be completely foolish to compete for the cup with an Arsenal team…There will be people who think I did it, and people who think the staff did it…

“I actually think it’s a bit sad in football that questions have to be asked about that,” he added.

“If I had to worry about having a cup with another club’s logo on it, we’re definitely going in the wrong direction. Of course I wouldn’t do that. That would be very stupid.”

Could Frank stay at Tottenham longer?

THFC, led by Frank, have won just one of their last six games and are currently languishing in 14th place in the Premier League.

Although he did well during his time at Brentford, he got off to a very poor start at Spurs and it’s hard to imagine him staying in the job for long.

The last thing Frank needed now was to be seen playing in a cup game against Tottenham’s biggest rivals.
