Arsenal are reportedly considering two transfer targets that could mean Miles Lewis-Skelly loses his future at the Emirates Stadium.
The talented young left-back made an impressive breakthrough last season but has not featured as much this season, with the likes of Riccardo Calafioli and Piero Hincapie selected ahead of him.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is said to be eyeing a new deal that could push Louis Skelly further down the pecking order.
According to The Sun, Arsenal are interested in Newcastle’s Tino Livramento, while the north London giants have also been linked with Crystal Palace’s Marc Guech on YouTube by Fabrizio Romano.
Could Myles Lewis-Skelly be headed for a move from Arsenal?
It was surprising to see Arsenal abandon Louis Skelly’s signing so soon after his monumental breakthrough, but he doesn’t seem to be living up to expectations.
The 19-year-old is clearly talented, but he is still inexperienced and Arsenal are probably concerned about how using too many young players will affect their chances of getting over the line in the pursuit of big trophies.
There were also rumors that Chelsea were interested in Lewis Skelly, but Football Insider has shut them down.
Should Arsenal have more faith in their young players?
Interestingly, Arsenal have also given Ethan Nwaneri significantly less minutes this season than last season.
The 18-year-old has shown great potential but is struggling to compete within Arteta’s squad.
However, many Arsenal fans will feel that Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly deserve to play more often, and they will no doubt wish these raw talents were given more chances.
After all, Bukayo Saka came through the club’s academy and is now one of the team’s star players.
