  • Thomas Frank under increasing pressure at Tottenham

The atmosphere at Tottenham is reportedly becoming sour, with fresh claims suggesting the dressing room has lost faith in head coach Thomas Frank.

Latest information from prominent sources says there is serious friction behind the scenes and the players believe they are “waiting” for the Danish manager to be sacked.

However, staggering financial hurdles could complicate the club’s decision-making process.

What Spurs players think about Thomas Frank

In the X’s post, sources claimed the atmosphere within the team was one of resignation regarding Frank’s tenure.

The post read: “Some Tottenham players believe Thomas Frank is waiting to be let go. If Spurs were to let Thomas Frank go, they would likely have to pay him a severance package of around £20 million. This figure is based on reports regarding the remainder of his contract.”

The £20m figure highlights the significant financial commitment made by chairman Daniel Levy when he appointed Frank to replace Ange Postecoglou almost six months ago.

With Frank on a long-term contract, terminating his contract prematurely would be a costly mistake for Tottenham’s hierarchy and could impact their January transfer budget.

Thomas Frank under increasing pressure at Tottenham

The report comes amid dismal form for Tottenham, who currently sit in a middling 14th place in the Premier League.

Frank, who had joined to bring defensive stability and tactical structure after an exciting ‘Angebor’ era, found himself a target of disgruntled supporters.

Indeed, Micky van de Ven and Pedro Polo clashed with fans after the 3-2 defeat to Bournemouth.

Despite delivering Spurs the Europa League trophy, their first silver medal in 17 years, the shadow of Postecoglou’s controversial sacking is adding to the pressure.

Frank was left fighting for his job as he was unable to elicit consistent performances from his key players and his pragmatic style alienated the fan base.

If reports of dressing room apathy are accurate, a £20m severance package could soon be the price the board has to pay to save the season.
