  • Federico Chiesa is struggling at Liverpool
  • Reds are aiming for a permanent transfer

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are exploring the possibility of bringing Federico Chiesa back to Turin on loan, but Liverpool have revealed that they are only considering a permanent move.

Once one of Serie A’s most exciting attackers, the Italy international currently faces an uncertain future as he struggles to feature regularly under manager Arne Slott at Anfield.

Chiesa joined Liverpool with high expectations, but his role this season has increasingly shifted to being a rotation player.

Despite contributing in key moments as a super-sub, he has not been able to convince Slott that he deserves a stable place in the starting XI.

Federico Chiesa is struggling at Liverpool

With competition from Kodi Gakpo and Mohamed Salah, Chiesa has found himself slipping down the pecking order.

Slott has recently preferred Jeremy Frimpong over Chiesa in the wide attacking position.

Chiesa has played just 228 minutes in the Premier League for the defending champions this season.

The lack of playing time opens the door to a possible return to Serie A, where Chiesa produced the best football of his career at Fiorentina and Juventus.

The 28-year-old has previously starred in Italy’s top flight, winning the Euro 2020 Player of the Year award and emerging as one of Europe’s most feared wingers before injuries and tactical inconsistencies derailed his momentum.

Juventus see an opportunity to revive Chiesa’s career and are keen to get him back into familiar surroundings.

The Torino bosses believe they can rediscover his old self in a system that caters to his strengths, particularly his explosive dribbling and ability to attack space from wide areas.

But Liverpool’s attitude complicates the situation. The Reds are not interested in a short-term deal and want a permanent sale to generate funds for the team’s future plans.

Chiesa is weighing his options. Although he remains committed to fighting for a place, the temptation to return to Serie A, where he is revered and his style of play is fully understood, is strong.

Juventus see him as the ideal addition for the next stage of their squad as they continue to rebuild their squad and integrate more dynamic wide players.
