  • Villa, Malen keen on new forward set to join AS Roma
  • ‘Outstanding’ Abraham could be a strong candidate to replace Mullen
        • Olave plans move to Aston Villa for ‘fantastic’ £17m ace hailed by Emery

Aston Villa have now begun contract negotiations with the “quality” player and it is expected that reaching an agreement on personal terms will not be an issue.

Villa, Malen keen on new forward set to join AS Roma

Donyell Malen appears to be heading for the exit, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently confirming that Donyell Malen is set to join AS Roma on an initial loan deal that includes a buy-out obligation.

Villa therefore need to sign a new forward by the end of the month and have identified a number of targets, most recently making a “decisive” move to sign Fiorentina centre-forward Moise Kean, who has a guaranteed release clause of £52 million.

But Keane is not the only option, as Sky Sports reporter Lyall Thomas revealed that Aston Villa have begun contract talks with Tammy Abraham, who is set to become a Besiktas player following his initial loan from Roma.

Talks have been described as “tentative”, indicating that no deal is progressing at this stage, but importantly Romano has made it clear the striker is interested in a move to Villa Park, and personal terms are not expected to be an issue.

‘Outstanding’ Abraham could be a strong candidate to replace Mullen

Villa definitely need to bring in a new forward this month, with Thomas revealing that Malen is currently in Roma for a medical, and Abraham could be a solid option considering he is very experienced and is probably at his best during his time at Roma.

The Englishman, who played in Serie A, scored 17 goals in Serie A in 2021-22 and was hailed as an “outstanding player” by journalist Henry Winter, and has recently shown signs that he can still reach that level.

Olave plans move to Aston Villa for ‘fantastic’ £17m ace hailed by Emery

Roberto Olave has his eye on the former Barcelona player.

The player, who played for Besiktas this season and made 11 appearances for England, has scored 12 goals in all competitions and found the back of the net four times in last season’s Coppa Italia as AC Milan narrowly missed out on Bologna in the final.

The former Aston Villa man, who earns £125,000-a-week, has shown he still has plenty left to do and if he is willing to play second fiddle to Ollie Watkins, the striker could be a smart addition to Unai Emery’s side.
