Everton are interested in signing a striker in the January transfer window, with Callum Wilson named as a potential target.
According to The Athletic, manager David Moyes is prepared to raid his former club to strengthen his attacking line-up. Wilson has extensive Premier League experience and could be a useful short-term signing for Everton.
Everton focus on Callum Wilson
They are aiming for a respectable showing in the Premier League this season and need more quality in their attacking line. Wilson has yet to establish himself as a key player for Nuno Espirito Santo and West Ham are unlikely to stand in his way. It will be interesting to see whether Everton make a formal offer to finalize the deal. Wilson could also be attracted to the idea of joining the Merseyside side.
He would want to play more often at this stage of his career and Everton could offer him that opportunity. Beto is unable to score goals regularly and Everton need a replacement.
Wilson needs a transfer.
West Ham, meanwhile, have already added to their attacking ranks with the signings of Tati Castellanos and Pablo in January. Wilson was taken off his packing order at the London club, but it would make sense for him to move on. The former Newcastle star aims to compete at the highest level and remaining in the Premier League with Everton will be exciting for him. It remains to be seen whether the two clubs will be able to reach an agreement quickly.
The 33-year-old joins West Ham on a free transfer and is likely to be available for a reasonable fee during the January transfer window.
