The 2026 PGA Tour season begins this week at the Sony Open in Hawaii. It comes a week after the traditional starting event, the Sentry, was canceled due to concerns on the course. So it’s been quite a while since golf fans have seen the best on the PGA Tour.

Many of the biggest stars will wait to make their debut until the tour returns to the mainland for the West Coast Swing, but this year’s Sony Open boasts a strong field The season will begin with four players ranked among the top 10 in the world.

Russell Henry, Ben Griffin, Hideki Matsuyama, J.J. Spahn, Collin Morikawa, Robert McIntyre, Keegan Bradley, Jordan Spieth, Adam Scott and Chris Gotterup are among the top players to tee up at Waialae Country Club in Honolulu. There are plenty of notable stories to tell about this group and others, with breakout players like Griffin and Spawn looking to get off to a strong start to their career years, while stars like Morikawa and Spieth trying to get back on track after recent down years.

Let’s see who can start the 2026 PGA Tour campaign on the right foot and take home the first title of the season and the $1.6 million in prize money that comes with it. While the Sony Open Field adjusts to island time, those of us still on the mainland will be enjoying prime-time golf viewing early in the year.
