  • Tammy Abraham agrees personal contract with Aston Villa
  • Abraham’s impressive performance at the English club

Aston Villa are proceeding with contract negotiations with Tammy Abraham, as stated by Fabrizio Romano.

The Midlands club have accelerated their pursuit of the former Chelsea striker and are aiming to bring him back to Villa Park to strengthen their attacking options for the second half of the season.

Following Donyell Malen’s move to AS Roma earlier this season, manager Unai Emery has prioritized proven goalscorers, with Abraham emerging as the clear front-runner.

According to the latest information from X’s transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the deal is progressing rapidly.

Romano admitted that the agreement with the player was effectively “sealed” with Abraham “opening the door” for him to return to Aston Villa.

The 28-year-old striker is currently plying his trade with Besiktas in Türkiye and has been in good form this season.

However, the complication of the transfer lies in his contract situation. He is currently on loan from AS Roma to Besiktas, but negotiations are reportedly complicated as the Turkish giants have an obligation to buy him.

Despite these hurdles, Romano reports that negotiations between the clubs are “progressing rapidly” and are “progressing well.”

Although no deal has been finalized yet, the desire of all parties involved to find a solution, combined with the player’s clear desire to return to the Premier League, suggests a deal could be imminent.

“Aston Villa are in advanced negotiations with Besiktas to finalize a deal for Tammy Abraham. The player’s contract has now been concluded as Tammy has opened the door for him to join #AVFC. Negotiations between the clubs are progressing rapidly and although not yet finished, they are progressing well.”

Abraham’s impressive performance at the English club

Aston Villa fans need no introduction to Tammy Abraham. During his previous loan period in 2018/19, he played in 40 games and scored 26 goals, contributing to the club’s promotion to the top league.

His ties with the Villa faithful remain strong and his return will be greeted with widespread enthusiasm.

Beyond his Championship exploits, Abraham boasts a strong pedigree at English clubs. He directly contributed to 113 goals throughout his time at the English club, highlighting his consistency at different levels.

During his time at Chelsea, he scored 15 goals in the league in 2019/20, consistently proving that he is a physical and dynamic forward who can lead a team at the highest level.
