Here are Liverpool’s player reviews as the Reds fought back from 2-0 down to lose 3-2 to Bournemouth in dramatic fashion in the Premier League today.

Arne Slott’s side struggled defensively in the first half, but responded well with Virgil van Dijk’s header just before half-time.

Liverpool then leveled with Dominik Szoboszlai’s superb free-kick and looked like they were going to take a point, but they were somewhat unlucky to see Bournemouth score the winner in stoppage time.

Liverpool vs Bournemouth player ratings

Alisson Becker – 5.5 – Bournemouth’s first two goals were unconvincing, especially the opening goal where he collided with Joe Gomez and allowed Evanilsson an easy finish.

Jeremy Frimpong – 6 – Jeremy Frimpong, a frustratingly inconsistent performer, wasn’t as effective tonight.

Milos Kerkes – 6 – Milos Kerkes has improved in recent times after a slow start at Anfield, but was once again below average against his old club tonight, with Andrew Robertson replacing him at half-time.

Virgil van Dijk – 6.5 – The Liverpool captain didn’t hide his glory even with Evanilsson’s opening goal, but he was solid enough to atone for his mistake with the goal and get the Reds back into the game from that point on.

Joe Gomez – 6 – Joe Gomez didn’t have enough time to develop in this game after being sidelined with an injury.

Ryan Gravenbirch – 6 – As you can imagine, I made some good tackles and interceptions, but it wasn’t enough to get me going because when I’m good I’m more than capable.

Alexis Mac Allister – 6 – The subtitles went off just before the hour, but it wasn’t Alexis Mac Allister’s most memorable performance. I kept things simple and didn’t get creative enough.

Dominik Szoboszlai – 8 – Dominik Szoboszlai, who has been Liverpool’s most consistent performer this season, saved his side again tonight with a brilliant free-kick, just days after scoring one against Marseille.

Florian Wirtz – 5.5 – Another disappointing game for Liverpool’s big summer signing, Florian Wirths, who made too many important mistakes, including not having the courage to take a shot from a good position.

Mohamed Salah – 7 – One of the few Liverpool players who consistently threatened and tried to make things happen, even if he couldn’t finish the night with a goal.

Cody Ga-5 – Kodi Gakpo, who played up front in a strike partnership, lacked confidence in this role and had little impact on the game until he was substituted in the 74th minute.

Subs: Andrew Robertson, Wataru Endo, Curtis Jones, Hugo Ekitike, Rio Nmomoha
