  • Tottenham make offer for Robertson
        • Liverpool are currently plotting a £50m signing of ‘a beast’ who has been compared to Van Dijk.
  • Liverpool prepare for Anthony Robinson transfer

Liverpool are currently reportedly preparing to sign an immediate replacement for Andy Robertson, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur this month.

Tottenham make offer for Robertson

After losing Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid last summer, Liverpool are now without the other half of their iconic full-back duo and could be on the brink of ending their great era at Anfield.

This came about as a result of Tottenham making an offer to sign Robertson. The experienced Scotland international has fallen down the pecking order from summer signing Milos Kerkes in recent months and is now eyeing a coveted starting role in north London.

Liverpool want to respect their club legend and will stay out of Robertson’s way if all parties can come to an agreement. They are already reportedly working on a call-up for Kostas Tsimikas, who is on loan from AS Roma, in preparation for the defender’s possible departure.

In such a tough season, many will question Liverpool’s decision to sell Robertson six months before his contract expires. Sure, they’ll get some cash, but is it worth losing a key dressing room leader now that Champions League qualification isn’t guaranteed?

What’s more, Anfield are yet to convince Kelkes, despite recent appearances suggesting he is finally starting to settle into life on Merseyside.

Liverpool are currently plotting a £50m signing of ‘a beast’ who has been compared to Van Dijk.

The Reds are considering signing a new centre-back.

With Conor Bradley out for the season on the other side, Jeremy Frimpong being the only obvious option and Tsimikas demoting Robertson, it’s clear the Reds could respond with defensive reinforcements.

To that end, Anthony Robinson’s name has once again come to their attention in what could be the crucial final week of the January transfer window.

Liverpool prepare for Anthony Robinson transfer

As reported by TeamTalk, Liverpool are set to begin a move to sign Robinson from Fulham this month. The Reds had interest in the American international in the summer, but ultimately opted to sign Kelkes instead. Now, six months later, they were able to sign the Fulham player as back-up to the Hungarian.

Robinson, 28, has endured a turbulent season so far. His season has been disrupted by injury since the start, and he has only recently started playing games, making now the perfect time for Liverpool to attack.

With so much uncertainty surrounding the signing of Marco Silva at Fulham, Robinson may find it difficult to resist the lure of Anfield this month.

Silva will be keen to retain the left-back he has admired over the years if this is to be his last six-and-a-half years in charge. After Robinson impressed against Liverpool last season, he told reporters: “Obviously, his performance has been great.

“What a performance. It was a great, unbelievable performance from him. At the end of the game I said to him he should be really proud.”
