Dominic Malonga Electrifies Unrival League with His Season’s First Dunk!

MIAMI (AP) — Dominic Malonga scored her first dunk of the season during an Unrivaled 3-on-3 league game on Saturday night.

The French player received a pass from her Brees BC teammate Rikea Jackson in the first quarter against the Lunar Owls and easily slammed the ball in with her right hand.

“It feels great. I’ve been working on it a lot,” Malonga said. “I didn’t want to just dunk in practice—I wanted to do it during a game. I’m really happy about that. It was even better because I felt the support from the entire arena. Everyone was so hyped, and it was an amazing moment.”

Standing 6-foot-6, Malonga was the No. 2 overall pick by the Seattle Storm in last year’s WNBA Draft and became only the second player to dunk since Unrivaled started two years ago, following Brittney Griner’s first dunk last season.

At just 20 years old, Malonga finished the game with 21 points and eight rebounds.

Fan Take: Dominic Malonga’s dunk is a landmark moment that highlights the increasing athleticism and excitement in women’s basketball. Moments like this not only energize fans but also help elevate the sport’s visibility and inspire the next generation of players to push their limits.
