Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Fulham defender Anthony Robinson.
The former Everton defender has been identified as Andrew Robertson’s replacement. The Scottish defender could head to Tottenham this month. Liverpool need to replace him and the 28-year-old could be the ideal player. According to TEAMtalk, the American international is reportedly keen on a move to Liverpool.
Anthony Robinson did well for Fulham.
He was a key player for Fulham, scoring three goals and providing 22 assists in over 200 appearances. Now could be the perfect time for him to take the next step in his career and join a bigger club. A move to Liverpool will be exciting for him and he will be playing alongside world-class players.
Liverpool could help him win trophies next season as well.
They signed Milos Kerkes at the start of the season and the young Hungarian has been in good form in recent weeks. But he needs more competition for his spot, and signing Robinson would be ideal. Two players could compete for the starting spot, which could help Liverpool improve as a team.
Could the Reds sign Robinson?
It will be interesting to see if Liverpool make an offer for the American international in the coming weeks. They have the financial power to make deals and convincing players won’t be difficult for them. He has already expressed his enthusiasm for a move, and it remains to be seen whether the two clubs can ultimately reach an agreement.
Robertson, meanwhile, will aim to play regularly for Tottenham and get his career back on track. He is currently Liverpool’s backup option and is too good to sit on the bench every week.
