Seattle’s Matty Beniers and Barkley Catton both scored just 18 seconds apart during the third period, helping the Kraken secure a 4-2 victory over the New Jersey Devils on Sunday. Joey Daccord made 27 saves to lead Seattle, which has now won three of its last ten games. Beniers also marked a milestone, playing in his 300th NHL game.

For New Jersey, Dougie Hamilton and Jack Hughes each netted goals. Jacob Markstrom, making his sixth start in the Devils’ last seven games, stopped 15 shots. The Devils wrapped up their four-game Pacific Division road trip with a record of 3-1-0. Hamilton opened the scoring early in the first period with a power-play goal, his sixth of the season, adding to his recent production, with eight points over the past nine games. Evans evened the score in the second period after a shot deflected off Jonathan Kovacevic and slid through Markstrom’s pads, who was well-shielded.

In the third, Beniers and Catton scored consecutive goals, putting Seattle ahead. Hughes drew the Devils closer with a power-play goal off a rebound, and Eberle sealed the game with an empty-netter with just over a minute remaining.

Upcoming games include Seattle hosting Washington on Tuesday, while New Jersey will face Winnipeg at home.

Fan Take: This game highlights how momentum can shift quickly in hockey, with key player performances and timely goals playing crucial roles. For fans, it underscores the unpredictability and excitement that makes the NHL a thrilling sport to follow.
