‘ Clayton Car Show opens at retirement

Clayton Kershaw is at the point in his career, despite all the successes achieved on the mound, there is still a clear question of when it will take the mound for the Los Angeles .

Ahead of Saturday’s season debut, Kershaw revealed that one of the main reasons he continues to encourage this question is his recent history of injury. He had not pitched since August 30th, before last Saturday, as he had recovered from offseason surgery due to his ruptured plantar plate from his left big toe and meniscus surgery on his left knee.

No matter how many injuries or what the injuries are, there is one thing for future Hall of Fame inductees. These illnesses do not define him. He spoke about why he chose to return to David Vassegh in 2025 via AM570 radio.

“I think the reason I stop the injury is the reason I stop it, and that’s probably the main thing,” Kershaw said. “I don’t want (my decision to retire) because I didn’t rehabilitate my injuries.”

Despite his illustrious career at 37, his return to the team was far from a victory lap celebrating his 18th year at MLB. Kershaw joined the rotation this season when he saw three starters hit the injured list.

Kershaw is not spring chicken, but the previous MVP has to produce for a rotation that desperately needs him.

“Look, if I’m out there and fired up and I’m not good anymore, it’s just time, that’s one thing,” he admitted. “If another batsman does my best, that’s one thing. But I’m not going to let myself do that.”

The Kershaw will one day be immortalized in Cooperstown forever, but that may be at the bottom of his priorities at this moment. His only focus is to contribute to a team that hopes to become MLB’s first recurring champion in 25 years.
