  • Carrick appoints United in interim charge
        • Carrick will have to drop Manchester United star, who took fewer touches than Lamence vs Arsenal
  • Palmer welcomes interest from Manchester United

The player, marked by FIFA as one of the best players in the world, will reportedly welcome a shock move to Manchester United.

Carrick appoints United in interim charge

Michael Carrick has made a sensational start to his time at the helm of Man United after being appointed caretaker manager until the end of the season. Under his guidance, the Red Devils defeated Manchester City and Arsenal in back-to-back games, but the performances were a far cry from the sluggish display they had become accustomed to under manager Ruben Amorim.

Man United, who spent a lot of money in the summer, have not signed any players so far in the winter transfer window, but veteran midfielder Casemiro has announced that he will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season. There have been rumors that the club could make a move before the February 2 deadline, but it remains to be seen whether INEOS will choose to back Carrick or save money for the summer when a new permanent manager will take over.

According to Manchester United’s official website, ahead of the team’s win at the Emirates, Carrick said of his reign:Looking far ahead of the track hasn’t happened so far over the past week or so. That’s just a first thought about what’s going on. What’s important to me is that the decisions I make, the decisions my staff make, the decisions the club makes are not short-term, they’re not just about getting us to the end of the season.

”Whatever happens, I have a responsibility to leave the club in a good place and move forward and make the right decisions. The more time passes, the more I am convinced that I will become a part of it and that we will overcome it together.”

Carrick will have to drop Manchester United star, who took fewer touches than Lamence vs Arsenal

Manager Michael Carrick will be forced to take the decision to drop the Manchester United star after his team shocked Arsenal 3-2.

Regardless of current plans, Man United have been given a huge boost to sign one of the Premier League’s biggest superstars.

Palmer welcomes interest from Manchester United

Chelsea star Cole Palmer would “welcome interest” from Man United, according to The Sun’s Samuel Luckhurst, amid reports of unrest at Stamford Bridge.

Stella has been Palmer’s biggest problem since his move from Manchester City in 2023, but it has only happened in recent months. The England international, who has struggled to maintain consistent fitness, has made just 13 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea this season, scoring five goals.

His form this season does not paint the whole story for Palmer, who was named in FIFA’s latest Best XI based on his performance from August 2024 to August 2025. However, it appears the 23-year-old is keen to return to his hometown, although it is reported that the 23-year-old “will not accept” a return to the Etihad Stadium.

The Red Devils have a well-rounded attacking force, but it could be difficult not to sign a star player like Palmer, who currently earns £130,000-a-week at Chelsea. The Sun also said there was “uncertainty” over the long-term future of skipper Bruno Fernandes, who is due to step down as captain in the near future, but there are few people better suited to replace him than Palmer.
