BMW Reveals Striking New Livery for 2026 WorldSBK Contender

BMW has revealed their 2026 WorldSBK race livery, marking a return to the traditional white color scheme reminiscent of previous years. While BMW’s classic colors—white, blue, and red—have long been part of their identity, recent factory race efforts in both the World Superbike Championship and World Endurance Championship featured a more blacked-out design. This season, however, BMW will bring back the white look, with ROKiT continuing as the title sponsor.

Significant changes on the roster include the departure of Toprak Razgatlioglu and Michael van der Mark, with Danilo Petrucci and Miguel Oliveira joining the BMW lineup. Oliveira’s move is especially notable, as he transitions to WorldSBK after 14 seasons in MotoGP, switching not only championships but also teams and motorcycles. Reflecting on this new chapter, Oliveira expressed his excitement and readiness to embrace the challenge, aiming to adapt quickly and enjoy racing alongside his new team.

For Petrucci, this shift to BMW is meaningful despite his experience rivaling mostly on Ducati machinery in his production racing career. Entering his fourth WorldSBK season, Petrucci shared his pride in joining the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK team, the reigning champions, and looks forward to racing the bike. He noted promising test sessions, especially in wet conditions, and emphasized his focus on enjoying the races and improving results rather than setting specific goals.

BMW had planned an in-person kickoff event for the season in Portimao on January 27, but it was canceled due to bad weather in Portugal. Additionally, BMW and Ducati’s joint tests scheduled for January 28-29 were also called off, with BMW reportedly relocating to Valencia instead, according to GPOne.

Fan Take: This season’s BMW lineup shakeup, highlighted by the entry of MotoGP veteran Oliveira, adds fresh intrigue to WorldSBK competition and could intensify battles at the front. For racing fans, seeing such important moves and a return to BMW’s iconic livery signals both a nod to tradition and a bold bid to reclaim dominance, potentially raising the championship’s excitement levels.
