Everton are currently reportedly making an approach to sign the Inter Milan attacker, with a potential transfer fee of around £26 million this month.

Everton move to sign £26m attacker

It’s been a quiet month at Hill Dickinson Stadium. Despite claims that Everton are interested in signing a new right-back, they remain inactive for now.

But as the January transfer window approaches its deadline, the Toffees could be looking to replace Jack Grealish, who will be out for around three months with a foot injury.

It’s a huge blow for Everton, who were forced to battle for points with Leeds United on Monday night without their main talisman.

Manager David Moyes told reporters about the injury: “It’s not for me to give a timetable. The doctors haven’t come to a conclusion yet. It’s a stress fracture in the foot. That’s all I can say.”

“This is a big blow. He’s been an important part for us since the beginning of the season. We’ve had some injuries, but this is a big blow for you.”s.

“We are in close contact with Manchester City. We will see how it works as we get more information from the experts. We feel sorry for Jack. We are not thinking about[his future].”

Replacing him will not be easy, but that is why the January transfer window is so important. Inter Milan attacker Harry Wilson has already been linked with a move to the Toffees.

According to reports in Italy, reported by Sport Witness, Everton have made contact to sign Luis Enrique from Inter Milan, with the winger also the subject of a €30 million bid from Bournemouth.

£26m Enrique could replace Grealish

If Everton have ambitions beyond finishing mid-table, they should spend big on Enrique before the end of the month. The 24-year-old Brazilian struggled to make his mark in Italy, but he had a fantastic spell at Marseille last season, scoring nine goals and assisting a further 10 in all competitions.

Everton will have to ask themselves if he can get back to that level. He is not the first South American to step foot in the Premier League and could even command a whopping £26m.

Everton could look to add to their full-back position before the end of the January transfer window.

There is still plenty of time for Enrique to rediscover his best form. At just 24 years old, the winger is definitely not even at the peak of his powers yet. Everton should attack while their stock is low.

Now that the Cherries have signed Ryan, competing with Bournemouth could prove to be a routine task, especially considering the Toffees should be desperate for an attacking spark without Grealish.
