  • Why should I drop Moore?

        • Ange can fix Kulu & Bergvall Blow by unleashing “monsters” in new roles

Today is Tottenham Hotspur Day.

Ange Postecoglou and his team continue their impressive European run and win the Europa League finals, allowing fans to forget the demons of the domestic season.

But Manchester United have a great track record on the continent this season, so it’s no wonder who’ll get the trophy full-time.

To give his team a chance to win, Postcoglow will need to make many changes to the starting lineup, which lost to Aston Villa on Friday night, including dropping Mikey Moore.

Why should I drop Moore?

The first thing to say is I think Moore should be taken from the team, but that doesn’t mean I don’t think he has a big role to play for the club in the coming season.

After all, his youth record with 21 goals and 15 assists in 34 appearances at various levels is spectacular, and according to respected analyst Ben Matinson, he is a “future superstar.”

However, he is only 17 years old and although he looked quite impressive for senior teams here and there, he was not involved in three goals in 21 games to ensure a start in the club’s biggest match since the Champions League final.

Furthermore, his lack of experience has been shown somewhat at Villa Park. He struggled to assert himself in the game and eventually failed after leaving the pitch in the 87th minute, only 7 passes on 100% of his dribbling.

Plus, Brennan Johnson is the team’s top goalscorer in every tournament this term, not to mention that he will start ahead of everyone else, 17 times in 49 games.

Other Spurs stars that should be dropped

Given the overwhelming nature of the game, there are several other players, including Archie Gray, Kevin Danso, and Ben Davies, who can train people who should be taken away from the team for the finals.

But in this example we’re talking about another starter in the attack: Mathys Tel.

The young Frenchman is one of the most exciting players on Lily White’s team, and while those at the club reportedly label him “generation talent” before he arrives in February, it wasn’t enough to be sure to the villains that he would need to maintain his place with the team due to the monumental crash tonight.

For example, despite leading the line for 96 minutes, he failed to score a single shot on the target, registered with just 0.15 assists of expected assists, failed with 80% of his dribbling attempts, completed only 12 passes, failed with 100% of his crosses, lost 10 of 14 duels, lost 11 innings, and committed four fouls.

Plus, along with the fact that he only scored three goals and provided one assist in 19 appearances for the club this season, it’s almost impossible to make a compelling argument about why he should lead the line with the Red Devils.

Plus, the guy to replace him, Dominique Solanke is far more effective in front of goals this season, scoring 15 goals and providing eight assists in 43 appearances.

Ultimately, Tel could be a useful asset for Spurs in tonight’s final, but to get the most out of him, it would be better to take him to the match as things grow, so that Postecoglou starts him on the bench and then take him to the match, allowing him to exploit the opening space at pace.
