Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing former Aston Villa attacker Moussa Diaby.
The Frenchman could be a quality signing as Spurs aim to further improve their quality in the final third before the season ends in January. Diaby has shown his quality in the Premier League in the past and could make an immediate impact at the north London club.
Spurs don’t have Moussa Diaby
Spurs need more quality in their side and the Independent claims they would like to sign a French attacker.
They need someone who can play against defenders and beat them in one-on-one situations. The final third requires more creativity. The 26-year-old currently plays for Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad but is open to returning to the Champions League club later this month. Tottenham are in the knockout stages of the Champions League and could be an attractive transfer destination for the player.
Inter Milan are also said to be interested in the player. Tottenham will need to act quickly to get a deal done with just days left. The Italian team is reportedly currently leading the race for his signature. It remains to be seen how the situation will develop.
Diaby is in great shape
Diaby has had an exceptional performance in the Saudi Pro League, helping the team win the league title last season. He had 15 assists in league play. Diaby has scored eight goals and provided 27 assists for the Saudi Arabian club since joining.
There is no doubt that he has the physical and technical attributes to do well at Spurs and could transform them in the final third. The opportunity to return to the Premier League would be exciting for him, but it remains to be seen whether Tottenham are able to secure a deal.
