Newcastle United reportedly aims to rival Chelsea due to the potential transfer of Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens this summer.

The talented 20-year-old has caught his eye in the Bundesliga, which has led to a lot of speculation that he will soon be able to return to the Premier League.

Gitens cast a spell with Chelsea early in his career, and at Manchester City and the Academy of Reading, but hasn’t seen what’s in the store for him after he’s likely to leave Dortmund.

According to the latest report, Chelsea appears to be facing serious competition for the Gitens signing, as Newcastle also took part in the race.

I imagine that knowing who will play in the Champions League next season will make the Gitens’ future clearer.

The Gitens are probably keeping an eye on the outcome as the top five fights go on the final day of the season.

Also, fans can probably celebrate Champions League qualifying live shows as they are trying to find a way to buy Nottingham Forest vs. Chelsea tickets.

That could be a huge result, as Chelsea missed it might mean they can no longer realistically beat Newcastle to a signature like the Gitens.

Chelsea can’t afford another poor transfer window

The current board hasn’t been enough for them to recruit, so Chelsea will need to get it right with their signature this year.

A lot of money is being invested in younger players for long-term projects, but it seems increasingly clear that only a few have resolved as expected.

Cole Palmer, Enzo Fernandez and Moises Kayseko have been major success stories for the CFC, but other recent signatures have been major flops, particularly Mykhailo Mudryk, Joao Felix, Nicolas Jackson, Robert Sanchez, Romeo Lavia, and undoubtedly others like Jadon Sancho and Pedro Neto.

Gittens may be a wise signature to give West Londoners upgrades like Sancho and Neto, but clubs may need to start signing with more proven and experienced names to complement the youth.

It will be interesting to see how this is hiding. And it will be interesting to secure Champions League qualification this weekend so that Chelsea can offer more options in the market in weeks and months.
