  • Frank: “The Lewis family is very passionate about this project.”
  • Tottenham offer chance to sign Brahim Dias
        • Bayern Munich star ‘very’ keen to move to Tottenham, confirmed in January

Tottenham Hotspur have a new opportunity to sign the Real Madrid attacker, according to recent reports.

Frank: “The Lewis family is very passionate about this project.”

Thomas Frank will be desperate to repeat Tottenham’s European form in the Premier League, having used the Champions League to get back to winning ways.

The Lilywhites will next take on Manchester City, hoping to prove themselves a thorn in the side for manager Pep Guardiola time and time again.

It’s a challenge the Spurs have surprisingly overcome many times over the years, but the depth of Frank’s squad is likely to be tested once again following recent injuries.

He told reporters during his preparations: “I don’t remember, but I think we lost six or seven players within three weeks in January? That’s crazy.

“Obviously we had too many people, so of course (the team) is weaker than when we started on January 1st. I can promise you that the Lewis family is very enthusiastic about this project.”

“They want everything and I am willing to go against my rule for once, which is that there is no doubt that the club wants to sign Semenyo. They have done everything. I think this is a clear sign that the Luiz family is very keen.”

Of course, it’s not just the important week on the pitch. Away from the game, Spurs are running out of time to welcome additional reinforcements.

To that end, the north Londoners are reportedly eyeing late moves for a number of players, including Raheem Sterling and Real Madrid’s Brahim Dias, who are currently free agents.

Tottenham offer chance to sign Brahim Dias

TeamTalk reports that Tottenham were offered the opportunity to sign Dias by Real Madrid this month and have launched a late investigation as a result.

The attacking star has not been able to break into Álvaro Arbeloa’s starting team since returning from AFCON and is currently being sought by intermediaries to leave in January.

He considers the Spurs as a potential landing spot.

Despite bringing in Randall Kolo Muani and chief creator Xavi Simmons in the summer, Spurs’ attack is Frank’s biggest influence.

This is an issue that could force them to dip into the transfer market in the hopes that Dias will forget his AFCON heartbreak and return to the Premier League.

If Spurs were to sign the Madrid player, they would have an over on both Newcastle United and Aston Villa, with those clubs also reportedly seeking last-minute deals this month.

The Magpies were reported to be in pole position to sign Dias earlier this week as they look to strengthen their own attacking options, but now that move could be taken over by the north London side. It’s a story all too familiar to Eddie Howe.

It’s easy to see why there’s interest from the Premier League, considering Carlo Ancelotti told reporters last season when he was Real Madrid manager: “He has come back in exceptional condition. He will be important for us. He will play as a winger and help the midfielders. He will be as important as last year and I think he will become even more prominent.”
