NBA Insider reports that Brandon Miller is the only “untouchable” player on the Hornets roster

From 2024-25, the Hornets finished their third NBA record, 19-63. After the 2025 draft lottery, Charlotte landed the fourth overall pick.

Ahead of the 2025-26 season, NBA Insiders say Brandon Miller is the only “unruly” player on the Hornets roster. The 22-year-old only played 27 games last season due to injuries. Miller is an inspiring offensive player when he is healthy. Charlotte is hoping he will be available for the 2025-26 season.

The Hornets chose Alabama’s Brandon Miller for the second overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. As a rookie, Miller played 74 of 82 games and started 68. He came in third in the Rookie of the Year poll. In his second year, Miller only played 27 games with the Hornets. He missed the final 45 games of the season due to a wrist injury. Miller needed surgery and his season was shorter.

Brandon Miller started all 27 games he played in 2024-25. Despite his small sample size, he averaged a career-high 21.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.1 steel per game. Plus, his 34.2 minutes per game was personal best for Miller. He had taken his progress a step forward until an injury occurred. That’s why NBA insider Sam Amiko reported that Miller could become Charlotte’s only “unruly” player this offseason.

I think an All-Star like Lamelo Ball is someone the Hornets want to hold. But Amiko said no one would be willing to pay what the Hornets want in return for the ball. That’s not what he continues his career at Charlotte. The Hornets are expected to listen to the fourth overall pick trade offer in the 2025 NBA Draft.
