The Philadelphia Flyers have announced that they have reassigned goaltender Alexei Kolosov to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate. Kolosov was recently called up to the Flyers’ roster on Saturday before their game against the Los Angeles Kings, following an injury to Flyers goalie Samuel Arson during a game against the Boston Bruins on January 29. This move marks his return to the Lehigh Valley roster.

This season, Kolosov has taken part in 21 games for the Phantoms, recording a 9-10-1 record, along with a .908 save percentage and a 2.52 goals-against average. Last season, he played 12 games with Lehigh Valley, where he went 5-6-1 with an .884 save percentage and a 3.11 GAA.

In the NHL with the Flyers this year, Kolosov has a record of 0-2-0, with an .830 save percentage and averaging 4.00 goals per game. During the previous season, he appeared in 17 games for the Flyers, posting a 5-9-1 record with an .867 save percentage.

Fan Take: This move highlights the ongoing development of young goaltenders like Kolosov, giving fans a glimpse of the Flyers’ future. It also underscores the importance of depth in NHL rosters, which could influence the team’s performance as they navigate injuries and aim for playoff success.
