Manchester United were defeated 1-0 by Tottenham in the Europa League final.

The Red Devils, who relied heavily on the Europa League to save the season, were defeated against the side of Angepost Ecoglu in Bilbao.

This defeat will make things worse for Reuben Amorim and his players next season.

They were unable to qualify for the Champions League next season. Not only that, they are not planning to take part in the European competition next season.

It hits not only in terms of how they want to attack financially, but also in terms of how they want to build promising projects with the club.

Tottenham ended their trophy drought

Brennan Johnson scored the only goal in the match, with the Spurs passing their first trophy for the first time in 17 years.

It gets worse from evil for the Red Devils as the Spurs celebrate their memorable success.

After the match, Amorim spoke to the media and insisted that he would leave the club if he was told he was not the right guy for the job.

“If the board and the fans feel I’m not the right person, I’ll go the next day.” As reported by Sky Sports, Amorim said.

“But I will never quit again. I am confident in my job. As you can see, I will not change anything in the way things are done.

“In this moment, I’m not here to protect myself. That’s not my style. There’s nothing to show my fans. There’s a bit of faith in this moment (I need it).”

After United sits 16th in the league and having a worst season in the Premier League, the Europa League final has come as a wake-up call for the club, showing once again that the problems are far more serious than most people believe.

They have spent money on new signatures in recent years, and have been over-snatched in most cases, but the outcome is still disappointing in all competitions.

It is still unknown what the future will be for Amorims in Old Trafford, but it doesn’t look good at the moment.

He has been given plenty of time to turn things around at the club, but his performance and results are very poor.

There were no improvements in his male management, in-game decisions, and his tactical approach.

Something needs to be changed in Old Trafford. Whether it’s a player or a manager, only time can tell.
