New York Thoroughbred Breeders, Inc. (NYTB) is set to host its yearly Stallion Season Auction from Wednesday, February 4th to Friday, February 6th. The event will take place on a dedicated NYTB auction website utilizing the Click Bid platform. This auction is a key fundraiser supporting NYTB’s mission to both promote New York’s breeding and horse racing industries and safeguard the well-being of those involved in the sport.

The auction consistently receives generous season donations from prominent farms across New York and Kentucky, including Saratoga Thoroughbred McMahon, Sequel New York, Iron Horse Stallions, Irish Hill & Duchess Views Stallions, Rockridge Stud, Lane’s End, Darley America, Derby Dunn Farms, among others. Nadja Thompson, NYTB’s executive director, emphasized the importance of this auction, noting that its proceeds play a vital role in backing the New York stud program and providing breeders with a broad selection of stallions from New York, Kentucky, and other key breeding regions.

Those interested in donating seasons can contact NYTB via email at info@nytbreeders.org or by phone at 518-587-0777. Bidders must register ahead of time and comply with the auction’s rules and conditions, which will outline specific terms for each breeding season. Registration details and the current list of participating stallions are available on the NYTB auction site, with additional stallions likely to be added before the auction starts.

Moreover, the New York Siren Program distributes over $60 million annually through purses, breeding incentives, and awards to qualified New York Sires competing in over 600 races at NYRA tracks and Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack.
