Dana White Hypes Boxing’s Biggest Modern Showdown and Aims to Revolutionize the Sport

Tonight, Dana White’s new boxing promotion is reportedly set to present one of the most monumental fights in history.

Though Zuffa Boxing has only held two events so far, White brings years of expertise in managing major combat sports events and is widely regarded as one of the greatest promoters globally. Now, he’s poised to put his skills to the test by organizing a fight that fans have eagerly awaited for over a decade.

According to BoxingScene, White’s promise to “shake up” the boxing world is coming to fruition with a blockbuster matchup. The long-anticipated heavyweight clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, two longtime rivals who have never formally met in the ring, seems closer than ever.

Sources say Zuffa Boxing plans to collaborate with Netflix to showcase the event, starting with Fury’s comeback bout against Arslanbek Makhmudov scheduled for April of this year. This fight will mark one of the streaming giant’s latest live sports offerings.

Joshua’s career appeared uncertain after a tragic car accident in which he lost two close friends and sustained injuries himself. However, he has since returned to training and opened up about his loss in a candid video. Meanwhile, Fury has not fought since his unanimous decision defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia, and Joshua’s last bout was a knockout of Jake Paul in a Netflix event last December.

Following the second Zuffa Boxing event, White hinted at exciting developments for the promotion. “We have some pretty crazy announcements coming up,” he revealed during the post-fight press conference but withheld specifics on dates or fighters. “We’re already exceeding expectations after just two shows.”

White emphasized that significant changes are underway within the boxing industry—new partnerships, expanded reach, and bold initiatives—that he believes will shape the landscape by the end of 2026.

Having vast experience in boxing promotions, including supporting Callum Walsh’s rise and being involved in major events like Canelo Alvarez vs. Terrence Crawford, White is no stranger to the sport and now looks to extend his influence even further.

Fan Take: This news is huge for fight fans, as Dana White’s involvement could finally bring the elusive Fury vs. Joshua fight to life, delivering a historic showdown that boxing enthusiasts have been waiting for years. If successful, it could revolutionize how big fights are promoted and streamed, potentially elevating the sport’s global profile to new heights.
