    <p>The Concacaf Champions League is about to kick off again as teams aspire to dethrone Cruz Azul, who claimed the title last season by beating the Vancouver Whitecaps. However, with key shifts like Bertelame of Monterrey moving to Inter Miami and joining Lionel Messi, the road to repeating as champions may be a tough one.</p>

    <p>A total of 27 teams have qualified for the tournament, with five making it directly to the Round of 16. Inter Miami, Toluca, Seattle Sounders, Mount Pleasant FC, and LD Alajuelense will be waiting to learn who they will face after the first round begins on February 3rd.</p>

    <p>Each round will include a home match and an away match; the winners will progress to the next round, culminating in a single-match final. The champion will earn not only a trophy but also the chance to represent North America at the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup, alongside Cruz Azul and the 2027 and 2028 champions. Additionally, they will qualify for the 2026 FIFA Intercontinental Cup.</p>

    <p>MLS teams will compete in the tournament before their league season starts on February 21st, making it essential for them to shake off any offseason rust while Liga MX and Costa Rican teams have already resumed play. The Canadian Premier League faces similar challenges, as teams like Forge FC, Vancouver FC, and Atlético Ottawa have already begun their first-round matches against Liga MX opponents, while the 2026 season doesn’t kick off until April. However, with the Canadian Premier League now in its seventh season, these teams are showing growth amidst the competition.</p>
