Simon Adingra has struggled to feature regularly since joining Sunderland.

The player has only started nine Premier League games for the Black Cats and will need to leave the club to play more frequently. He is being urged to leave the English club for his own benefit.

Simon Adingra needs a game

The young attacker needs to play regularly to develop further. Sitting on the bench at an English club will not do him any favors. It is clear that Sunderland do not consider him a key player and it would be ideal for him to aim for a summer departure.

Adingra has been linked with a move to Real Madrid or Juventus.

It will be interesting to see where he ends up. The former Brighton attacker is technically gifted and has a promising future. If he joins the right team, he will be able to get the most out of his abilities. He will add peace and flair from the wings and has the versatility to play on either wing.

As quoted by Sporting News Africa, La Nouvelle Chaîne Evoirienne reporter Alex Payne said: “Simon Adingra is a technically gifted player, but he doesn’t have the explosiveness. He also doesn’t engage much in the defensive effort that is needed to be successful in the Premier League. In the Premier League, they no longer just want talented players, they want complete athletes who give their all every game. It’s very intense.”

Journalist Isodin Ilupeju said: “In his own interests, he needs to leave the English league as soon as possible. He has not been able to find his feet despite his ability, but when things don’t go well he has to look elsewhere. Especially[Roberto]De Zerbi wanted to take him to Marseille, but unfortunately there was no such luck. He could also look to the French, German, Belgian or Dutch leagues to get fit and shine.

Sunderland have had an excellent season so far and are pushing towards a top-half place. It remains to be seen whether they can finish the season on a strong note. It would make sense to release the African attacker in the summer and bring an upgrade. It’s not in their interest to keep him on the bench. They need to consider signing someone who can make an immediate impact on the first team. Summer exit is ideal for all parties.
