Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly prepared to boycott Al Nasr matches in a move that could prompt a move from the club in June.

According to ESPN, Ronaldo remains adamant that PFI should change its transfer policy and intends to continue his strike to push for change.

The report added that Ronaldo is prepared to request to leave Al Nasr if the situation does not change by the summer.

The Portugal international refused to feature in Al Nasr’s last match, with ESPN adding that he tried to block Karim Benzema’s move from Al Ittihad to Al Hilal earlier this week.

Why is Cristiano Ronaldo unhappy with Al Nasr?

As the report goes on to explain, there have been some changes at Al Nasr recently that hinder what the club can do in the transfer market.

The club’s manager Simao Coutinho and CEO Jose Semedo were recently suspended by the PIF, which infuriated Ronaldo, but it also appears the team’s expenses have been cut.

While all this is happening, Al Hilal have more money to spend on big signings like Benzema, so it may not be all that surprising that Ronaldo is unhappy with the turn of events.

The 41-year-old has a contract with Al Nasr until 2027, but it may be difficult for them to keep him now.

Losing Ronaldo will certainly be a huge blow to Saudi football, but it is clear that some changes will have to be made to satisfy the star name.

Will Cristiano Ronaldo be able to return to Europe?

ESPN states that Ronaldo’s contract with Al Nasr has a release clause of 50 million euros, but it’s hard to imagine a European team paying that for him at this point.

First, Ronaldo turns 41 today, but it’s not clear how much longer he has left until he retires.

At this stage, it’s definitely likely that Ronaldo will move to somewhere like MLS.
