Arsenal have held initial talks to sign Brazil’s hottest player, and Chelsea could also be involved.

As first reported here in the Daily Brief, industry insiders believe this could be a big summer for Corinthians midfielder Breno Bidon, who has already attracted a lot of interest in the just-ended January transfer window.

The 20-year-old central midfielder has already made over 100 first-team appearances and scored four goals for Corinthians, and it seems clear that he will make a big move sooner rather than later.

For now, the feeling among industry sources is that Arsenal have the strongest interest in Bidon and are also the most advanced on that interest, with initial talks already taking place.

The Gunners approached the deal through an intermediary, but other top clubs such as Chelsea are also keeping a close eye on the Brazilian starlet.

A source said: “Arsenal are firmly in the team.” “They have done some early work on this deal, but of course Corinthians are reluctant to sell. His release clause is 100 million euros, so they are in a good position in negotiations.”

However, other sources suggest that Corinthians are realistic about Bidon’s future and could accept a fee in the region of €30 million for him in the summer.

Chelsea are known for acquiring elite young talent like this and could see Stamford Bridge as a good move for their development, but Arsenal also look like an attractive destination at the moment.
