Juventus attacking midfielder Kenan Yildiz has verbally agreed to a new and improved contract with the club, Fabrizio Romano reports.
Yildiz has been a star player for Juve in recent seasons, establishing himself as one of the most exciting young talents in world football.
This has seen the Turkish international linked with other big clubs, with reports that Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in him.
Still, Romano posted to X about Yildiz agreeing to the terms of a new contract with Juventus, resulting in him becoming Juventus’ highest-paid player…
Romano posted: “Juventus have reached a verbal agreement with Kenan Yildiz on a new long-term contract with the camp. Yildiz has agreed to put pen to paper with an increased salary, so his new contract will be valid for the next four years. He will become one of the highest paid players in the team.”
Kenan Yildiz remains at Juventus, but transfer interest certainly remains
Juventus fans will no doubt be happy that Yildiz has committed his future to the Turin outfit for the time being, but we imagine that doesn’t completely eliminate transfer speculation.
Clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea have compelling financial power at the highest level, so they could be able to offer huge sums to both Juventus and Yildiz at some point in the future.
After all, the Premier League is now widely considered to be the most competitive and prestigious league in the world, and it is hard to imagine that a player of Yildiz’s quality would not have ambitions of playing for England at some stage.
Juventus are currently fourth in Serie A, but it is thought they could be at risk of losing a star player like Yildiz if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.
According to Romano, the 20-year-old’s new contract is for four years, which could open the door for a big move as he approaches his peak years.
