Hernandez hit a three-run home run from Diamondbacks ace Corbin Burns to give the a 3-1 lead. It was the second game for the outfielders from the injured list, but he hasn’t wasted time affecting LA

Manager Dave Roberts has stoked Hernandez’s high praise.

“He enjoys those spots. He’s not afraid to fail. He can manage his emotions,” manager Dave Roberts said. “He can dodge fastballs. He can hit and slug, or hit soft/secondary pitches. He can hit all the fields.

Hernandez was extremely strategic when he missed two weeks with IL with adductors and Roberts chose to include the outfielder in the lineup. Hernandez didn’t play on Tuesday.

Roberts explained that he has shut down the All-Stars from the lineup in Game 2 of the Division Series to save him for Wednesday’s finale against Burns on the Mound.

“I felt like I had him there (Wednesday) and I couldn’t guarantee he could go three times in a row,” Roberts said.

Roberts’ decision was clearly rewarded as Hernandez hit a slider from Burns on a 1-2 count and sent the ball to Stadium’s centre field wall. The rest of the LA lineup went 22-3 against Burns.
