Judy Holland’s Mulholland Springs’ Ms. Tartt made a decisive move on the final turn to secure a commanding victory by two and three-quarters lengths in the 33rd edition of the $125,000 Wishing Well Stakes at Turfway Park on Friday.

This win marked Ms. Tartt’s eighth triumph in 23 career starts. Trained by John Ennis and ridden by Edgar Morales, Ms. Tartt completed the six-furlong race in 1 minute, 18.04 seconds.

The early stages of the Wishing Well Stakes featured a tight battle for the lead, with Kehoe Beach—who held a record of seven wins and five losses—seizing the front under pressure from Fancy Cavernay. The pair crossed the quarter-mile mark in 22.52 seconds, while Ms. Tartt trailed in fourth position.

Entering the far turn, Ms. Tartt challenged the pacesetter from three wide and quickly surged ahead to take command, extending her lead to two and a half lengths. Zadorsky closed strongly at the finish to take second place. Following them were Ekuta, Sea Runner, Moon Mystique, Liza Spirit, My Lil Punky, Dara, Baby No Worries, Fancy Cavernay, and Kehoe Beach.

With this victory, Ms. Tartt earned $73,900 for her connections, raising her total career earnings to $462,056. The 5-year-old filly is a daughter of Maximus Mischief and out of Sheza Sweet Lemon, a Lemon Drop Kid mare. She was bred by Sovereign Farm in Kentucky.
