  • Forest aim to sign Dyche to new contract under pressure
  • ‘Amazing’ Engels breaks in Scotland
        • Nottingham Forest are close to signing a replacement for ‘outstanding’ Anderson

Nottingham Forest are now favorites to sign a “great player” this summer, with the possibility of a cut-price deal.

Forest aim to sign Dyche to new contract under pressure

Forest are under pressure after losing 3-1 to Leeds United last time out and are just three points clear of the Premier League relegation zone, but the 54-year-old is confident Evangelos Marinakis will not change managers again.

Speaking after the defeat at Elland Road, Dyche said: “The owners were always in touch with me.

“The owner knows very well, and I’ve made it very clear to him, that this is not going to go smoothly all the way. We’ve had some good days and some not-so-good days.”

“I don’t think one game will be so decisive that he suddenly says, ‘Okay, I have to change everything at the club for the fourth time.’

However, the Englishman’s long-term future at the City Ground may now be in doubt, with it recently revealed that Tricky Trees will seriously consider a move for Marco Silva in the summer, at which point his contract with Fulham will expire.

Although Dyche’s side’s place in the Premier League is in doubt, they remain in a strong position to avoid a drop in their standing and are considering targets ahead of the summer transfer window.

This comes as Football Insider reports that Nottingham Forest are the frontrunners to sign Celtic star Arne Engels at the end of the season, with a cut-price deal now available.

The Hoops rejected a £25m offer from Forest for Engels during the January transfer window, but the Scottish side could accept a lower offer in the summer.

Tricky Trees has emerged as favorite to win Celtic’s star race and he could be ready to test himself in the Premier League…

The central midfielder has spent the past two seasons in Glasgow, during which he established himself as a key player, regularly scoring and assisting.

The former FC Augsburg man is also a highly creative player, as evidenced by the fact that he has created 35 chances, the most of any Celtic team in the Scottish Premiership this season.

Midfield partner Callum McGregor also spoke very favorably of the four-time Belgian international, saying:Maybe people judge him unfairly based on his price, but I think he’s a great player who plays with a big heart and big energy and will always get better because he has the right attitude. ”

It’s clear the 22-year-old is ready for a move south of the border and the possibility of signing him for a reduced fee this summer is a boost for Forest, but Engels isn’t the only midfielder being targeted…
