Daytona Duel Qualifying Race: Here’s the Official Starting Lineup!

Kyle Busch propelled his No. 8 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet to the fastest time on Wednesday night, securing the pole position for the upcoming Daytona 500. He will line up alongside Chase Briscoe, who qualified second in the No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota, meaning both drivers will start at the front of their respective Duel qualifying races.

In Duel #1, the front row consists of Busch and Ryan Preece, while Duel #2 will see JGR teammates Briscoe and Denny Hamlin start side by side. The 45-driver field is evenly divided between the two Duels, with the top 10 finishers in each race earning up to 10 points, similar to a stage in a regular NASCAR event.

Corey Heim and Justin Allgaier have already locked in two of the four available open positions on qualifying speed, but two spots remain. These final slots will be awarded to the highest-placing open drivers in each Duel race. Duel #1 features open drivers Corey Lajoie competing against Casey Mears and Chandler Smith, while Duel #2’s contenders include Anthony Alfredo, BJ McLeod, and JJ Yeley.

Below is the full starting lineup for both Duel races.

Fan Take:
This update is crucial for NASCAR enthusiasts as it highlights who holds the advantage going into one of the sport’s most prestigious events. Kyle Busch’s pole position sets the stage for an intense showdown, and the Duel races will be pivotal in shaping the final grid, thereby adding excitement and unpredictability to the Daytona 500 weekend.
