Arsenal and Real Madrid enter transfer war over 30 million euros of Bundesliga ace

Arsenal and Real Madrid are interested in Borussia Dortmund left-back Daniel Svensson.

Fijages reports that both clubs want to sign the 23-year-old before the end of the season and will need to pay €30 million to complete the deal.

Svensson has proven his quality in Germany and has the technical attributes to perform well in England and Spain. The player is likely to be snapped up if clubs like Real Madrid and Arsenal are called up in the summer. It will be interesting to see if they are willing to pay his asking price.

There is no doubt that both of them have the financial means to which he can afford. He could be a long-term acquisition for them. Real Madrid need more depth in their left-back department and the Swedish defender is likely to get a good chance if he can quickly adapt to Spanish football.

However, Arsenal have a strong defensive team. The 23-year-old may not be a guaranteed starter at the north London club. He should aim to join a club where he can play an important role in the starting lineup. Sitting on the bench in the pea club will have a negative impact on his development.

It remains to be seen how the situation will develop. The asking price is reasonable for a player of his quality, and Svensson could justify investing in his future. He wants to prove that he is at the highest level and will certainly hope that either of the clubs can agree a deal with the German club in the summer.

Both clubs have been successful in developing young players in the past and they could help him realize his potential.
