There is an argument that England currently have their best squad since winning the World Cup in 1966, and that is reflected in their impressive weekly wages.

These days, even players outside the Premier League can boast impressive salaries, especially those who decide to join the Saudi Professional League.

But who earns the most? Will Harry Kane’s Bayern Munich heroics be enough to earn them top spot? Football FanCast has ranked the current highest-paid English players in football.

Take a closer look at England’s top 10 earners…

10

Marc Gehi (Manchester City)

£250,000 a week

In 10th place is a player who secured a move to Manchester City in the January transfer window. After leading Crystal Palace to shock FA Cup glory and then qualifying for the Europa Conference League, Marc Gehi had a number of options ahead of him as he looked to move away from Selhurst Park.

In the end, he opted for a move to Etihad Airways with a lucrative contract offer. The England centre-back is currently reportedly earning a staggering £250,000 a week and £13 million a year.

9

Reece James (Chelsea)

£250,000 a week

There was a time when it was difficult to say what the future holds for Reece James. He spent most of his time in the treatment room. It seemed unlikely that he would be called up to the England squad, as a result of his availability rather than his ability. But those days seem to be a thing of the past, and he’s earning more than that impressive salary.

The Chelsea captain reportedly earns £250,000 a week in west London, which equates to £13m a year, just like his international teammate Guehi.

8

Jadon Sancho (Manchester United)

£250,000 a week

Jadon Sancho is still a Manchester United player and it’s easy to see why when you look at his salary. The winger, who earns a hefty £250,000-a-week (£13m a year), has proven to be one of the biggest transfer failures in Premier League history.

Sancho’s future looked destined to leave Old Trafford for a while, but it remains to be seen whether he will ultimately find a permanent move rather than another loan spell.

7

John Stones (Man City)

£250,000 a week

John Stones won’t be on this list for long, as his contract ends this summer. But as it stands, the Manchester City defender remains one of the highest-paid English players in football, earning £250,000 a week and £13m a year.

The former Everton player certainly deserves his place. He has recently won back-to-back titles and will go down as one of England’s most decorated defenders of all time when he leaves the Etihad.

6

Mason Mount (Manchester United)

£250,000 a week

Sancho is not the only player to earn big money at Old Trafford, Mason Mount is also one of England’s top earners. And, like Sancho, he has yet to make the impact he had hoped for at Man United despite earning £250,000 a week.

Early injuries are far from helping the former Chelsea player, but there is still time to turn his fortunes around and avoid another transfer failure at the club.

5

Trent Alexander-Arnold (Real Madrid)

£277,895 per week

When Trent Alexander-Arnold left Liverpool as a free agent after winning his second Premier League title, he broke Anfield’s hearts but left behind an undeniable Premier League legacy.

The Real Madrid right-back currently earns £277,895 a week, or more than £14 million a year, making him one of the highest-paid English players in football.

4

Jack Grealish (Man City)

£300,000 a week

Jack Grealish’s loan spell at Everton was a timely reminder to the Premier League of his quality and why Man City tied him down to a £300,000-a-week deal a few years ago.

Premier League players earn huge amounts of money from their performances.

Despite not having played a significant role at the Etihad for some time, the winger remains one of England’s highest-paid players. It speaks volumes of his talent at Aston Villa, with City making him the fourth-highest paid player in the England squad.

3

Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid)

£347,243 per week

Jude Bellingham will always be at the top of this list as one of the best midfielders in football. He is a man who shines in the big moments and his £347,243-a-week salary reflects his salary at Real Madrid.

Bellingham Senior Career Path

Birmingham City 2019-2020

Borussia Dortmund 2020-2023

Real Madrid 2023-Present

The former Birmingham player has enjoyed his career path so far and is set to become a great player for England if the Three Lions achieve their goals. And he plans to do so while making a lot of money.

2

Harry Kane (Bayern Munich)

£416,758 per week

Many consider Kane to be England’s best ever striker, and it’s hard to argue with that. The Bayern Munich striker carried Tottenham Hotspur on his back during his heyday and ended up waiting for a trophy with Bayern Munich.

He earned £416,758 a week in Germany, making him England’s second highest earner, which equates to an astonishing £22.6 million a year.

1

Ivan Tony (Al Ahly)

£425,260 per week

Ivan Toney was making money in the Saudi Pro League without blinking an eye. The former Brentford striker made his big money move in 2024 and has never looked back, reportedly earning £425,260 a week and almost £22m a year.

So despite Kane’s achievements and Bellingham being one of Europe’s best midfielders, it is the Al Ahly man who currently reigns supreme as the highest-paid English player in football.
