Club Brugge’s highly regarded defensive midfielder has recently been linked with the Gunners and Red Devils in a report from TEAMtalk.

However, it remains to be seen whether these clubs have a realistic chance of signing Stankovic, with Romano stating that Inter Milan are already working on bringing Stankovic back to the San Siro.

The Serie A giants have a buy-back clause that can be triggered this summer, and it appears they intend to use that option to re-sign him for 23 million euros…

Romano posted on X’s official account: “Inter have already started planning the buyback clause for Aleksandar Stankovic ahead of June. A buyback of 23 million euros this summer and 25 million euros in June 2027 is possible, but the club is already planning for next June.”

Inter clearly hold all the cards here, so Romano’s update looks like it could be bad news for interested clubs such as Arsenal and Manchester United.

Stankovic looks like a huge prospect and one would imagine there will be continued interest from top Premier League clubs and beyond.

The 20-year-old has been compared to a young Declan Rice in TEAMtalk’s report on his Arsenal links, so it’s no wonder the north London giants would want to bring him on board to learn from their midfield star.

Stankovic didn’t have many opportunities to impress at Inter early in his career, but the Italian team seem to have managed to insert a clause that would give him control over his future.

According to Romano, even if Inter do not re-sign the Serbian international this summer, he still has a 25 million euro clause in his contract next year.
