Rangers are currently eyeing a summer move for the “fantastic” defender, with former caretaker manager Barry Ferguson previously revealing he is a big fan.
Gers set their sights on new defender
The race for the Scottish Premiership title is heating up, with Celtic putting pressure on Rangers with a dramatic 3-2 late win against Kilmarnock earlier today, but Rangers made no mistake in beating Hearts 4-2 at Ibrox despite being twice behind.
However, Hearts still hold a two-point lead over Gers at the top of the table and still have a good chance of winning the league for the first time since 1960.
But Ibrox should become an attractive summer destination if Gers can secure top spot for the first time since 2020, as they now face off against Celtic to sign the Scottish Premiership star.
This comes as Football Insider reports that Rangers are currently eyeing a summer move for Dundee FC defender Luke Graham, with the 22-year-old also being targeted by their Old Firm rivals.
According to transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke, Graham has attracted attention due to his performances in the Scottish Premiership this season, and English clubs are also keen on him. “As we always see in Scotland, if there are players who are performing well outside of their old firm, Rangers and Celtic will look to sign them.
“Graham has had some great performances for Dundee this season so there is a lot of interest in him.
“Dundee did a good job retaining him in the January period and I think there was interest from the likes of Queens Park Rangers and Portsmouth in the English Championship.”
There could therefore be stiff competition for the defender’s signature, but given his level of performance at Dundee, Danny Rolle’s team should do everything in their power to win the race…
Rangers sign £9m Ibrox star and bigger talent than Bulaga
Rangers have their own attacking talent that will shine in Sunday’s clash at Ibrox.
Graham could sign ‘great’ contract with Rangers
Scotland Under-21 manager Scott Gemmill has been impressed with the starlet’s performances at international level, saying earlier this season: “Luke is great. He’s obviously playing at Premiership level now, he’s doing great. He was great in the Czech Republic. He was a great player.”
“It was a really great performance and a really high level game. For me, it was a real hurdle to show that he can play at that level. He was really positive.”
Gemmill is not the only one who admires Gemmill, with former Rangers manager Ferguson also making it clear that he is a big fan. “He’s been on loan to a lower-league opponent and has definitely completed his apprenticeship. Every time I’ve seen him he’s been outstanding for Dundee.”
The centre-back also averages 1.2 interceptions per 90 in the Scottish Premiership, the second highest of any Dundee player, and is also ranked second on FotMob’s average rating of 6.97.
As such, Graham could be primed for a big move now, and it would be a real statement if Rangers were able to beat their main rivals to sign him this summer.
