  • Christian Norgaard warns Arsenal bench over Ben White’s injury
  • Arsenal continue to have injury problems
    • Mikel Arteta updates on Ben White and Calafiori

Medical issues have been at the center of Arsenal’s recent outings amid growing concerns over the fitness of their defensive backbone.

The Gunners have continued their impressive run of form, but Mikel Arteta is facing major tactical headaches ahead of the grueling fixtures, and the physical strain of the grueling schedule is starting to show in the dugout.

The most alarming moment of the afternoon came midway through the second half, when Christian Norgaard was spotted sprinting towards the touchline with an immediately worried expression on his face.

The Danish midfielder, known for his leadership and spatial awareness, was closest to Ben White when he pulled up after a routine defensive clearance.

X newspaper reporter Simon Collings said the urgency of the situation was immediately conveyed.

“I think Norgaard ran over and told the bench that White had injured his left hamstring. Zvimendi is coming,” Collings said.

The sight of Norgaard gesturing towards his leg to the coaching staff suggested the injury was more than just a minor bruise, and Arteta acted quickly.

Arsenal continue to have injury problems

The timing of White’s departure is particularly painful for the north London side. Arsenal’s injury problems continue and the team was already reeling from the blow before the first whistle.

Riccardo Calafioli was injured during the pre-match warm-up and was forced to withdraw from the starting lineup.

Ben White was sent off as a precautionary measure to prevent further damage to his hamstring, but losing two main defensive options for 90 minutes stretched the team to the limit.

Mikel Arteta updates on Ben White and Calafiori

Speaking to the media after the final whistle, Mikel Arteta remained characteristically cautious about the seriousness of the double setback.

The Spaniard praised Norgaard’s quick thinking, but was reluctant to give a final timeline for the players’ return.

“We have to assess them properly. As for Ben and Ricciardo, we’ll see how they react in the next day or two. It’s too early to say whether they’ll be available at the weekend,” Arteta told TNT Sports.
