Bethpage Black will host the team showdown between Team USA and Team Europe, promising an exciting atmosphere fueled by New York’s raucous fans. The Europeans head into the tournament with plenty of confidence as they aim to win their fourth Road Rider Cup since 1995 and return 11 of the 12 players who won two years ago.

There will be no shortage of storylines at this year’s event, from U.S. captain Keegan Bradley choosing not to play to looking to recreate Europe. Since it will be hosted by Team USA, Bradley and his co-captains will have the opportunity to set their desired course and schedule for the entire weekend.

Let’s take a look at the latest rankings for the 2025 Ryder Cup.

The Friday and Saturday morning format is Foursomes, also known as Shots. In this format, teams of two take turns playing one ball, and the two players alternate shots on each hole. One golfer tees off on odd-numbered holes and the other golfer tees off on even-numbered holes.

In each match, the team with the lowest score wins the hole in match play, and the hole is halved if the teams are tied.

more: How does four-ball work in golf?

four ball

In the afternoon, teams play in a four-ball format. These sessions also involve teams of two, but each player plays their own ball in a match, so there are four balls played. Again in a match play style, the lowest score on each hole wins that hole and determines half of the tied holes.
