  • Bayern exit opens door to Arsenal move
  • Gunners maintain advantage against Tottenham

According to Football Insider, Arsenal are reportedly in a good position to sign Leon Goretzka, with the Bayern Munich midfielder set to become a free agent this summer.

Interest in the Germany international is expected to increase further once his contract officially expires, with Arsenal and Tottenham both emerging as leading candidates.

However, it has been suggested that Arsenal currently have a competitive advantage, largely due to their ability to deliver consistent Champions League football and a clearly defined long-term project under manager Mikel Arteta.

Goretzka has enjoyed great success with Bayern Munich.

Bayern exit opens door to Arsenal move

Bayern Munich are preparing to rebuild their midfield and Goretzka’s departure appears increasingly likely as his contract expires.

The 31-year-old has had great success with Bavaria, winning multiple Bundesliga titles and playing a key role in Bayern’s 2020 Champions League win.

Despite his pedigree, changing team dynamics and evolving tactics have at times reduced his profile in recent seasons.

With Bayern looking to revamp their midfield core, Goretzka has been given the opportunity to explore new challenges, with England a likely destination.

Arsenal had previously sought to sign Goretzka during the January period, but were unable to finalize a deal midway through the season.

His upcoming free agent status will change the situation dramatically, removing the need for a transfer fee and allowing negotiations to focus more on wages and sporting ambitions.

For Arteta, Goretzka would add experience, physical presence and tactical versatility.

Capable of playing as a box-to-box midfielder or in a more advanced pressing role, he has leadership and technical qualities.

アーセナルは定期的にチャンピオンズリーグ出場権を獲得しているため、その力はさらに強まる。 Competing consistently at Europe’s highest level is understood to be a key factor as Goretzka considers the next stage of his career.
