  • Man City plan to sign natural right-back
  • Newcastle United’s stance on Livramento’s future

Manchester City are reportedly preparing the groundwork for a potential summer move for Newcastle United full-back Tino Libramento, according to talkSPORT.

Josep Guardiola’s side have been monitoring the 23-year-old for several months and believe he could be the long-term answer for a position that has required tactical improvisation throughout the current campaign.

City frequently use midfielder Matheus Nunez in a hybrid right-wing role, and the club are understood to be evaluating more natural defensive options ahead of the next transfer window.

Man City plan to sign natural right-back

Man City have consistently adapted their defensive structure to suit Guardiola’s tactical innovations.

In recent seasons, the traditional full-back role has evolved into a reverse position or supporting midfield role.

However, the lack of an established specialist right-back meant that there was occasional experimentation.

Technically sound, athletic and comfortable in possession, Livramento provides both solid defense and offensive momentum.

His ability to move into wide channels while maintaining positional discipline will complement City’s possession-oriented approach.

Football Insider’s Keith Wyness recently provided an update on City’s interest in the English right-back.

Newcastle United are hoping to extend Libramento’s contract at St James’ Park.

The Magpies see him as the cornerstone of a long-term project, particularly as they look to strengthen their position in the Premier League’s upper echelons.

However, according to reports, the player has not yet committed to new terms.

Although there are no signs of unrest, the lack of a deal leaves room for increased outside interest.

If negotiations with City intensify, Newcastle are likely to demand a large transfer fee.

Newcastle are determined to keep him, but the next few months could prove decisive for the English defender.
