The former Liverpool star’s long and successful career at Anfield would make his signing with Man United controversial, but it looks like this is an opportunity for the Red Devils to make a move.
Ficajes says United want Alexander-Arnold and could try to make a €50 million bid for the England international, who is looking for a new right-back.
Alexander-Arnold hasn’t had the easiest time at Real Madrid, but he remains a big name and one of the best full-backs in the game today.
Trent Alexander-Arnold to Manchester United – how realistic is this move?
To be honest, even if United had serious interest in Alexander-Arnold, it’s very hard to imagine it actually going anywhere.
The 27-year-old has only just joined Real and the club will likely give him a little more time to adapt, even if he has not started training in earnest at the Bernabéu.
Perhaps Alexander-Arnold himself is unsure of remaining in Spain and is homesick for English football, but will he really ruin his reputation with Liverpool fans by joining United anyway?
We saw this happen with Michael Owen once, but I’m sure there are other, more appealing options for Alexander-Arnold.
Man United need a new right-back
However, MUFC were able to sign a top-class right-back this summer. Diogo Dalot still plays frequently, although clearly not enough.
Alexander-Arnold would be a huge upgrade, but there may be other more realistic options.
Jules Kounde has also been linked with United by Fichajes, and the Barcelona right-back could be a suitable candidate for the role.
